Here you can visit the Giant Pandas to help support efforts towards the long-term survival of this iconic and endangered symbol of Chengdu and China. Other historic legacy sites such as Jinli Old Street, Wenshu Temple, the Three Kingdoms-era Wuhou Temple, the Ming-Qing Dynasty neighborhoods of the Kuan-Zhai Alley and the ancient but still operational Dujiangyan Irrigation System can provide you with a fascinating look into both China’s past and present.

You can also find side trips to the Leshan Giant Buddha, the world’s largest stone carved Buddha, and the holy Mount Emei, one of the Four Sacred Mountains of Buddhism in China. • Can I drive to Tibet through Sichuan-Tibet Highway G318?
Since now, foreigners are not allowed to rent a car or drive to Tibet from Chengdu through the Sichuan-Tibet highway. The sichuan-Tibet highway is still too dangerous for visitors especially in rainy season (late June - early September). Once the G318 is open to foreign visitors, we'll update right away and arrange the overland tour to Tibet from Sichuan.
  • Is Sichuan-Tibet railway open for tourists?
The Sichuan-Tibet railway is still under construction and it won't be open to tourist until the year of 2026. The train from Chengdu to Lhasa still needs to pass by Xining and run along the Qinghai-Tibet railway. Once the railway between Sichuan and Tibet is completed, it will save us a lot time on the train journey with only 13 hours.
