Overview: The Lari Railway, an extension of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, is from Lhasa to Shigatse. You can enjoy the scenery of the plateau along the way when traveling to Tibet by train. While taking the train to Shigatse, you can enjoy the scenery of the Tibetan areas along the way. The Lari Railway is an important part of the Tibet Railway. It was officially started construction in September 2010 and opened on August 16, 2014. The entire line is more than 200 kilometers long. You can see unique Tibetan areas such as fields, mountains, rivers and valleys. The train passes through the Yarlung Zangbo River Gorge area, along with the Yarlung Zangbo River scenery, so there are many bridges and tunnels. There are three trains every day during the peak season. During the off-season，there is only one shift of the train every day. There are four stops in the middle which takes three hours in between.

The length of the railway is 253 kilometers, with a total investment of 10.8 billion yuan. The entire line includes 14 stations: Lhasa Station, Lhasa South Station, Baide Station, Xierong Station, Qushui Station and Chabala Station. , Nimu Station, Karu Station, Renbu Station, Dazhuka Station, Denggu Station, Jiqiong Station, Kaju Station, Shigatse Station.

From the Lhasa River, along the Yarlung Zangbo River, through the canyon area, there are rivers, fields, mountains, villages along the way. In the autumn, you can see harvesting over the fields everywhere. The piles of haystacks and the busy Tibetans make a special local scenery. Moreover, there are soldiers and guards patrolling in each section along the railway to protect the place. Due to various reasons such as climatic reasons, most of the soil here is barren with serious desertification and the unique plateau hills.
