Yangpachen boasts an altitude of 4,300 meters. The priority to visit there is not for sightseeing, but to experience the hot spring bath in high altitude areas, washing away your fatigue on the journey. Tibet, located in the plateau, boasts largest number of hot springs in China. And Yangpachen has the highest hot springs in the country, as well as the rare explosive springs and intermittent hot springs, with a total area of over 7,000 square meters.

The Yangpachen Geothermal Field is surrounded by snow-capped mountains. This is an enchanting natural wonder on the roof of the world. If you are lucky, you may encounter a hot spring eruption, the boiling hot springs rushing into the sky. The hot spring water here contains a lot of hydrogen sulfide, which has a therapeutic effect on many chronic diseases.

Notes:

1. It is recommended to bring your own swimsuit, cause it can cost much to buy one there.

2. Do not do strenuous exercises when you are bathing in the hot spring, given the low oxygen content in the high altitude areas.

3. It’s recommended to visit the Namtso first before bathing the hot spring. Or you may miss Namtso Lake under the sunset glow, which is the most beautiful moments for the lake. .
