As Chinese citizens, Hong Kong and Macao tourists only need to provide Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents (Home Return/Visit Permit in short) and Border Pass. Border Pass can be handled in Lhasa within one working day only. Home Visit Permit: The permit is issued by the Bureau of Exit and Entry Administration of the Ministry of Public Security through China Travel Service sub-branches in Hong Kong and Macau and allows holders to travel freely to Mainland China. Border Pass: The certificate for Chinese residents to visit the Tibet border areas, such as the Everest Base Camp in Shigatse and Mount Kailash in Ngari.
What documents are needed for foreigners (including overseas Chinese) touring to Mount Kailash?v Chinese visa: (excluding residents of China's visa exemption countries) It’s the indispensable document for you to enter China. (Please make sure that your visa is valid during your stay in China lest your trip be influenced due to the expired visa) Tibet Travel Permit: Permit for foreigners to enter Tibet. When you board the plane at the airport, you have to offer the original Tibet entry permit.

Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents, also known as Taiwan Compatriot Permit:a travel document issued by China’s Ministry of Public Security to Chinese Taiwan residents to enter mainland China.

Nepal Visa: A permit to enter Nepal.

What are the steps of handling a Tibet Group Visa?
