With an average altitude of 4800 meters, Mount Kailash Yatra is a great challenge for most of the tourists. The starting point of Darchen is relatively low, about 4675 meters. Then the altitude gradually rises until reaching the highest point of the Drolma La Mountain Pass, 5660 meters above sea level. High Altitude Sickness, also medically referred as Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). It is a possible uncomfortable pathological reaction in high altitude regions where the air pressure is low and oxygen is thin. Symptoms may include headaches, vomiting, tiredness, trouble sleeping, and dizziness.
