Coqen County, located in the southeast of Ngari in Tibet, is one of the few high-altitude counties with an average altitude of more than 4,700 meters. Because there are many lakes and fresh water resources here, Coqen means "great lake". The Coqen county has only one town and four townships.

The population is scanty, whole county only has about 10 thousand people, thus developed slowly, the hotels are lagging behind, mainly are guest houses, at present they have 3 Tristar hotels, the other hotels only got 5, and the rests are domestic guesthouses.
