The climate in Shigatse is warm in summer and cold in winter, which belongs to the plateau temperate and semi-arid climate. It is of in the mild and semi-humid climate zone of the Yarlung Zangbo River Basin (there are ten climate divisions in Tibet) .Shigatse is dry with strong ultraviolet rays. Although the blue sky and white clouds on the plateau are spectacular, visitors need to be aware of having sun protection and keeping moisturized.
