1.Tourists need a climbing permit if they want to climb Mt. Everest.
If you are climbing from Nepal, you need to submit materials from Nepali cultural, tourism and civil aviation departments, pass the audit and obtain the qualification certificate, and pay the relevant fees. According to Nepalese regulations, climbers must obtain mountaineering permits through a local qualified trekking company or mountaineering company. The fees for applying for the Everest climbing license:
Mountaineering permit fee (USD)In addition to the fees charged by the government, the cost of licensing from the local mountaineering company is USD 2,500/group, Liasion Officer USD 3,000/group.
To reach the summit from the north slope of Mt. Everest, you need to follow the arrangement through the Tibet holy mountain mountaineering service Co. LTD. You do not need to apply for an ordinary Tibet Travel Permit from the tourism bureau. You can go directly through the Tibet holy mountain exploration service Co.LTD. and apply for a permit from the Tibet mountaineering association.
Mountaineering Permit fee (USD)
To visit the EBC in Tibet, foreign tourists (including overseas Chinese) will be organized by the local travel agency and the local travel agency shall apply for the Tibet Travel Permit from the Tourism Bureau later. After successfully applied the Tibet Travel Permit, also need to go to the Frontier Corps for Border Pass in order to visit the EBC.
3. Certificate Required on other trekking trips to Everest
From Nepal to Mt. Everest, the certificates you need to apply for are: TIMS (Trekkers Information Management System) and National Trust for Nature Conservation Permit. If you are hiking in the restricted area in Nepal (E.g. Mustang District, Makalu, etc.), have to apply for the special Pass. Can apply at Nepal Tourism Board in Kathmandu or Pokhara.
Starting from Mt. Everest, if hiking towards Advanced Base Camp, have to apply for Tibet Travel Permit, Border Pass and Mountaineering Permit. The Tibet Travel Permit and Border Pass can be arranged by the Local Travel Agency. Mountaineering Permit has to apply from the Tibet mountaineering association. For the needed tourists, our travel agency can provide the Hikking Service, including: all requested certificates, vehicle, tour guide, accomodation, etc.
If hiking from the east slope of Mt. Everest, or from the Old Tingri to the EBC, just apply the Tibet Travel Permit and Border Pass will be sufficient.
