Yangbajing Geothermal Hot Spring
Yangbajing boasts an altitude of 4,300 meters. The priority to visit there is not for sightseeing, but to experience the hot spring bath in high altitude areas, washing away your fatigue on the journey. Tibet,located in the plateau,boasts largest number of hot springs in China. And Yangbajing has the highest hot springs in the country, as well as the rare explosive springs and intermittent hot springs, with a total area of over 7,000 square meters.
The Yangbajing Geothermal Field is surrounded by snow-capped mountains. This is an enchanting natural wonder on the roof of the world. If you are lucky, you may encounter a hot spring eruption, the boiling hot springs rushing into the sky. The hot spring water here contains a lot of hydrogen sulfide, which has a therapeutic effect on many chronic diseases.
Dezhong Hot Spring
Dezhong Hot Springs is an ancient hot spring with a history of more than 1,300 years. Dezhong Hot Spring is located in Dezhong Village, Menba Township, Mozhugongka County, Lhasa City. The surrounded mountains are covered by lush vegetation, and the air here is fresh. Dezhong Hot Spring is called as"the world's first hot spring" by many Western experts.
The hot spring is divided into two ponds by a wooden bridge with the main section being about five meters wide. The other part of the pond is said to be particularly effective for healing arthritis. Loosely sheltered by wood planks, water in the two ponds is waist deep and has a temperature which remains at approximately 40 degrees Celsius all year round.
Kangbu Hot Springs
Kangbu Hot Spring is located in a narrow ravine in Kangbu Village, Kangbu Township, Yadong County. It is a famous therapeutic hot spring in Tibet. It enjoys a reputation as the world’s top medicine spring in Bhutan and Sikkim.
It has 12 mouths. Some mouths can cure orthopedics, some dermatology, some gynecopathy, some headache, some heart disease. Every year, many visitors from home and abroad come to Kangbu Hot Spring to have baths both physically and mentally.
Riduo Hot Spring
Riduo Hot Springs has a long history and is known as the “Sacred spring” because of its unique water quality, geographical environment and long-established hot spring culture. Riduo Hot Spring is located in Riduo Township, Mozhugongka County, Lhasa City, with an altitude of more than 4,000 meters. The hot spring has the effect of promoting blood circulation, adjusting blood pressure, etc.
According to the Tibetan history, Riduo Hot Spring was directly being used more than a thousand years ago. The Tibetan Buddhism deems that bathing here in the spring can wash away the past sins and cleanse the soul. There are many famous medicinal herbs such as Cordyceps, Snow Lotus, Fritillaria, Angelica, Rhodiola, and Gentiana.
