The Everest Base Camp is a living zone set up to protect the environment in the core area of Mount Everest. It is 5,200 meters above sea level. This height is also the highest limit that able to be inhabited, and if the altitude is higher, it will be difficult for humans to survive. Here is where the average person can reach the nearest to Mount Everest and is the closest to the sky. Because permanent buildings are not allowed, tents built by locals are the only place to stay. Usually the tents are open every April and will be dismantled by the end of October. Generally, each tent can accommodate 8-10 people, all of which are shared dormitory. The bed is charged from RMB 80 to 100 /person. A stove is placed in the middle of the tent, and cow dung is used as a burning object for heating. For diet, it is recommended to bring instant noodles, bread, compressed biscuits and other fast food, plus a small amount of fruit. If luck enough, some tent owners will cook some hot dishes to share with the guests. The local conditions are more difficult, the simple toilet, there is no extra hot water to take a bath (of course, it is not recommended to take a bath), so be prepared in advance! It is worth mentioning that the starry sky of Everest Base Camp, after midnight, you can see the Milky Way rising from the top of Mount Everest, full of stars, as if at your fingertips. But it will be very cold, even if the temperature at night in Everest Base Camp is around 0 degrees, be sure to pay attention to wind and keep warm.
