What is Tibet Military Permit?
When overseas people go to travel in Tibet, not all scenic spots are open to them. For those who would like go some of the military sensitive areas must hold “Military Allowance Permit” which was issued by the Lhasa Military Foreign Affairs. Normally can be received after 15 working days. Only with the process, you are able to discover the these areas in Tibet.
How to apply for the Military Permit?
The Military Permit is issued by the Lhasa Military Foreign Affairs and handled through the travel agency before entering Tibet. Due to the long approval process, please confirm the travel route at least 30 days before departure, and provide a valid passport, Chinese visa and a scanned copy of the work certificate or invitation letter (for those who are holding a non "L" Chinese Visa).
The basic information you need to provide:
A: Passport + China Visa (apply for the foreigners who traveling in China, with Type-L Visa)
B: Passport + Non "L" Visa + Working Certificate/ Reference invitation letter
C: Passport + APEC Card
The place where requested of Military Pass:
Ngari: Mt. Kailash, Lake Manasarovar, Zanda County, Guge Kingdom etc.
Nyingchi: Pomi County, Ranwu Lake etc.
